If the traditional engineer often works starting from details and eventually getting to the totality, as a designer you work the other way around. We start by identifying the expression and identity we want to pursue, then create the concept that embodies this intention, and then work out the details that enhances the mood of the totality. We start to paint with broad brush strokes first. In the creative process, we often jump between whole and the details in the work of exploring the concept and fine tune the design expression.
